About Lake Como and Nudism

Is Lake Como a nudist or clothing-optional resort?

Lake Como is a traditional nudist resort, not a clothing-optional resort.

Nudity is required in the pool and hot tub areas and is expected throughout the grounds, weather permitting. Lake Como is considered a clothes-free resort because guests may be nude throughout the property, and shared participation helps create a comfortable, respectful environment for everyone.

First-time guests are welcome to arrive clothed, ask questions, and become familiar with the resort during their initial visit. Staff are always available to help explain expectations.

Can I bring food and drinks into the resort?

Guests may bring their own food and beverages into the resort, with a few important restrictions:

Glass containers are not permitted on the pool deck, in the hot tub enclosure, or at the beach
Per Florida Health Code, food and drinks are not allowed within four feet of the pool
Outside food and drinks may not be brought into the bar or restaurant areas

These guidelines help maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health regulations.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Lake Como is a family nudist resort, and children under 18 are welcome.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is a Como resident, member, or registered guest. That adult assumes responsibility for the child’s supervision, conduct, and safety at all times.

Families often appreciate the calm, respectful environment and the emphasis on boundaries, courtesy, and body acceptance.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, dogs are welcome at Lake Como with the following guidelines:

Pets must be registered at the office and have a current rabies vaccination
Dogs must be leashed and under the owner’s control at all times
Dogs are not permitted inside common buildings, on the pool deck, in the hot tub enclosure, or on the sandy beach

For overnight stays, pets are allowed in designated motel rooms with a pet surcharge. Please ask about pet-friendly accommodations when making your reservation.

Do I have to be nude the entire time I’m there?

Nudity is required in the pool and hot tub areas and is the norm throughout the resort. Guests are encouraged to participate fully in the clothes-free environment.

First-time guests are welcome to take a brief period to become familiar with the resort and ask questions before fully participating. Staff are happy to help explain expectations and assist with that transition.

What should I bring with me?

Guests are encouraged to bring:

A towel to sit on
Sunscreen
Comfortable footwear
A water bottle
Any personal items you’d normally bring to a day at a resort

Towels may also be available for purchase if you forget one.

Are photos allowed at Lake Como?

To protect privacy, photography is restricted at Lake Como.

Photos of others are not permitted without clear consent, and photography may be limited or prohibited in certain areas. Please check with staff if you have any questions about appropriate photo use.

What if I feel uncomfortable or have a concern?

Your comfort and safety are a top priority at Lake Como.

If at any time something makes you feel uncomfortable, report it immediately to the office or to a staff member. You do not need to handle the situation yourself or worry about getting someone in trouble.

Will I feel out of place if I’m new?

Most first-time guests are surprised by how relaxed and welcoming the environment feels.

Guests come from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and life experiences. There is no single “type” of person who belongs here. Once nudity is no longer the focus, social differences tend to fade, and the atmosphere feels ordinary and comfortable.
